Silver Falls State Park is located about 24 miles east of Salem, Oregon (about 48 miles south of Portland). The full hike has 10 waterfalls, half of which are over 100ft (30m) high. Due to the floods of the previous year in the Northwest, some bridges were still washed out, so the hike only passed North, Winter, and South falls.
A second visit to the park on 5/23/98 with all the bridges open was made, some of these pictures are from that second visit (the better looking, greener ones). There is a really neat waterfall that is so close to the rock wall when you walk behind it, that you can almost reach out and put your hands into the waterfall itself (No picture of it, sorry). Quite a refreshing experience.
