Cannon Beach and Ecola State Park lie at the end of HWY 26 along HWY 101. Ecola State Park offers a high vantage point over the beach. You can see Haystack Rock easily, and with a careful eye, you can see sea lions sunning themselves on the rocks by Ecola State Park.
Cannon Beach is nice at low tide. Tide pools with anemones and shellfish are left over when the
tide recedes, allowing an easy, dry walk onto the rocks around Haystack Rock. These pictures were taken at about 1-3 pm, at low tide.
